Taylor Smith earned a BA from Ohio Wesleyan University, majoring in both Sports Management and Journalism. During his undergrad, Taylor gained invaluable insights into athletic performance and teamwork through his participation on the varsity swim team, in addition to seven years as a competitive swim coach before deciding to further his education. Taylor went back to school to pursue a Master’s in Sports and Performance Psychology at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology.
While at DU, Taylor began working with individuals suffering from eating disorders as a program therapist. Over the course of four years he developed a passion for helping individuals find balance in their relationship with food, their bodies, and movement.
Currently, Taylor serves as the Mental Performance Coach for the Athlete EDGE® program. He is enthusiastic about working with athletes and focusing on equipping them with the skills necessary to recover and maintain recovery from an eating disorder while also helping each individual excel in their respective sport. Taylor firmly believes in the importance of sports and mindful play for personal well-being, emphasizing that sports should always be enjoyable and fulfilling.
Outside of work, Taylor enjoys spending time with his dog, exploring nature through hiking and snowboarding, and immersing himself in sports activities. He also has a passion for culinary adventures, trying new restaurants and local venues, and enjoys participating in trivia competitions. Combining Taylor‘s love for adventure with underwater exploration, he holds a PADI Open Water II dive certification and always seeks out opportunities for scuba diving when traveling.
